Canonical Studies: Matriarchy Edition is an immersive, interdisciplinary journey into the Bible, Qur’an, and Torah—examined not through the lens of tradition, but through the lens of truth. This course investigates how translation choices, political agendas, and selective canonization shaped these texts over centuries, often diminishing or erasing the presence of women and the Divine Feminine. Students will explore omitted scrolls, early manuscripts, and historical contexts to uncover how patriarchal institutions reshaped sacred narratives to reinforce male authority. Beyond textual analysis, the course traces the deep lineage of goddess-centered cultures that predate and influence the major monotheistic religions. Many rituals, symbols, and divine attributes now framed as patriarchal innovations originated in older matriarchal or polytheistic societies. Through comparative mythology and historical research, we will reveal how the Great Mother was intentionally obscured—her names altered, her stories fragmented—while her power continued to underpin the very systems that denied her. This course is a reclamation. It invites students to engage with sacred texts critically and courageously, restoring the feminine wisdom woven beneath their surface. By the end, participants will understand how spiritual narratives evolve, how cultural power shapes theology, and how reconnecting with the Divine Feminine transforms both personal and collective spiritual practice.
